SPECIMEN:

- Container: 2 Gold Top (SST) Vacutainers

- Minimum Volume Required: 3 mL

​

- Storage/Handling: Allow 30 minutes for blood to clot, then centrifuge specimen at 5000 RPM for 15 minutes. Maintain specimen in the refrigerator or in the freezer until testing can be performed.

 

NOTE: If freezing is required to preserve stability, transfer serum into a separate plastic screw-cap transport container.

REFERENCE RANGES:​

Quantitative values are reported as Luminescence Measurement Counts (LMC), a measure of allergen-specific IgE antibody reactivity. LMC values are assigned to IgE Classes (0 – 6), with increasing class values reflecting increasing levels of allergen-specific IgE. A Class 1 or higher indicates detectable allergen-specific IgE consistent with sensitization but does not by itself confirm clinical allergy or predict reaction severity; results should be interpreted alongside clinical history and are not a substitute for physician-supervised skin testing or oral challenge where indicated.
